Privacy.
Pholio collects the minimum necessary to run a publication and an app. We do not sell data, do not serve third-party advertising, and do not track you across the internet. This page explains what we do collect and why.
1. On this website
We use privacy-respecting analytics (Plausible) that records aggregate page views without cookies. We do not know who you are, where you browsed before, or what you do after you leave.
2. In the Pholio app
Creating an account is optional. If you create one, we store your email address and a hashed password. We store the list of answers you've saved offline so we can sync them between your devices.
3. Ask-a-local submissions
When you submit a question through the app or this website, we store the question, your email (if provided), and the reply you receive. We never publish your email or identifying information without explicit written consent.
4. Payments
App subscriptions are processed by Apple and Google. We never see your card or payment details.
5. Your rights
You can export or delete all data we hold about you from inside the app, or by writing to privacy@pholio.co. Requests are actioned within 30 days.
6. Data retention
Account data is kept as long as your account is active and deleted 90 days after you close it. Anonymised analytics are kept for 24 months.
7. Changes
We'll email you before any material change to this policy. Minor edits (grammar, clarifications) appear in the changelog at the bottom of this page.
